Nigerian Army on Saturday declared the sending of troops for the beginning of Operation Crocodile Smile II in the six Niger Delta states.
Maj.- Gen. Enobong Udoh, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, said this on Saturday while tending to troops.
He stated: "Operation Crocodile Smile isn't a show of power yet a certainty building watch that tries to console the general population of Rivers state and the Niger Delta that the armed force is prepared to work.
"We are prepared to work in close cooperative energy and joint effort with other security administrations and organizations of government to guarantee that there is peace and security for the general population.
"Our operation expects to promise the general population that we are prepared to battle violations like cultism, militancy, and abducting so individuals can continue on ahead without fear," he said.
Udoh included that troops would complete community oriented watches with the Nigerian Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service and the Department of State Security (DSS).
Others are Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Nigerian Customs Service and work force of the Nigerian Prison Service.
Udoh said the division would complete the activity slated from October 7 to October 28 in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states while another development would cover different states in the Niger Delta.
