My reaction on the meeting of Yoruba summit held yesterday:
Can you imagine the white as a group
in the United States publishing a communique asking for restructuring from the African-Americans in the United States?
in the United States publishing a communique asking for restructuring from the African-Americans in the United States?
For a start, the white in the US, is more than the African-Americans and also the economic mainstay of the United States. It is an aberration for the Yoruba who are the majority in terms of the population of Nigeria and also the economic backbone of the country to be asking the Hausa/Fulani's led Federal
Government for restructuring.
Furthermore, the communique issued after the Ibadan meeting doesn't even have a timeline or any actionable consequences.
We noticed that the Igbo who during the sham Jonathan's conference worked with the Hausa/Fulani to have states as Federating Units, is now in agreement with the Yoruba to have regions as the Federating Unit. Possibly too, with an offer of more states or the position of the Vice President in 2019, by the Hausa/Fulani, the Igbo is likely to forget about restructuring and Biafra altogether.
Did you not observe that the APC is now calling for memorandums on restructuring? Obasanjo had one too in case you totally have forgotten. Restructuring, however, is too late folks.
And with all due deference to the septuagenarians and octogenarians still calling themselves the Yoruba leaders, you have had your play. The game is over now. It is now the turn of my generation to dictate the tempo.
The Young Yorubas for Freedom (YYF), rejects the communique issued at the Ibadan summit. A communique without a timeframe or any actionable consequences, is nothing, but a talk show to stop the agitation for Oduduwa Republic.
