President Donald Trump's account was yesterday suspended by Twitter
Online users have hailed a Twitter employee who deleted the account of Donald Trump briefly on Thursday (yesterday).
The US president’s Twitter account was briefly deleted by a customer service employee on their last day, according to reports. Trump’s personal account @realDonaldTrump showed a message which read ‘Sorry that page doesn’t exist!’
As users were beginning to speculate what might have happened after the news spread rapidly on the social media network , the account came back within a matter of minutes.
In a message posted a short time later, Twitter explained that Trump’s account vanished as a result of “human error”.
“Earlier today @realdonaldtrump’s account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee,” the statement said.
“The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored.
“We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.”
A later post added: “Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. “We are conducting a full internal review.”
